  • Golf Bag and Clubs

Finally got this one to the point I think it's pretty much done. Gotta be close to 3 days worth of work?? Anyone see any critical omissions?? Been fun and challenging to work on... organic stuff is not my forte.... though that's beginning to change somewhat.

Looking good. Those irons look great. Quite a bit of detail and the towel is a nice touch to the bag. Good stuff all around John.

Wow! Those look great, especially the bag full of clubs.
How did you do the white stitching and the welting, splines/maps? Just curious.
Damn, this reminded me that I have not seen a golf club, in person, since the early nineties!

Schwing! Looks great. Love the bag.

This is really nitpicky but it looks from the views here that all of the irons are the same pitch when they should be increasing in pitch.

Very nicely done, but I can definately see stretching textures in some areas.

The first 3 club shots I wasnt feeling, the next 3 quite good, and the bag shots are fantastic.

              Good work

Stevesideas- did you notice stretching textures anywhere other than on the headcovers? I kinda did those in a hurry and just box mapped them, so I know that can be improved a bit. Didn't notice too much else though...

dlparisi- see attached. I guess the previous images were all angled such that you couldn't see the change in loft, but it's there. I think my putter needs to have the proportions checked though!

voltron7- the stitching is done with splines that were pulled off the mesh. Then I used an opacity map (gradient) to show the thread pattern. The spline is renderable at about 1/16 inch and sunk half way into the mesh below. The welting is part of the mesh, just poly modeled.

I'll try to get some updates soon. Time's gonna be limited this week though...

Wow, great stuff! Thanks for the explanations, I'm always curious how people make some things!

If you're going to have the irons on their own, I'd change the shaft. Its looks like carbon fiber from your images. I think a steel shaft with the few ribs would look a lot better.

This is the best view of the grips that I have on file. Good ol' Golf Pride Tour Wraps.

Yeah, I think I'll also include a set of irons with steel shafts. The classic look is too good to omit. I got set back a bit with some archviz projects, so I'm trying to bang out a bunch of the quicker models and then I'll go back and revisit some of the early stuff.
