  • Clouds with environment fog (test)

Thought I'd add to my all to low posting count with this tiny test.. We had little to do at work so I played around with environment fog. I'm working on a picture in my spare time and want to use env fog as my cloud solution. So here's what I got so far. Might update today if we don't have that much to do.

What I would like is (well, of course the possibility to use particles) is same way of letting the noise "flow outside the box", that is I don't want it to clip THAT hard as it does when the atmospheric gizmo ends. It works great for regular fog (hey, it's the name after all) but many of us wants to use it as a cloud solution, and for that it just don't quite cut it yet.

They look great! I agree they could have some softer areas here and there, but the overall effect is still attractive.

        Thanks!

Coffee Rabbit: When I meant softer areas I was mostly talking about the edge of the gizmo itself. It's just clipping the cloud. I'm after a semi-cartoony look with rather strong backlighting on the clouds, and with softer areas the backlighting effect is lost. But thanks for input!

bluescreen2: Nopes, a noise map set to turbulence with a narrow threshold (something like 0,44-0,45)

I agree. A feature to soften the clouds towards the edges of the Gizmo would be nice.
I tried to use several distance blend modes but i could not get it to work.
