It's just one render--no stitching required!
The section render refers to the fact that it is as if you have sliced the room open to see inside...maybe they should be called Sliced renders??? It has nothing to do with rendering in sections or anything like that.

Looks great, very useful for understanding the entire space of the room and how it is connected

I agree the lens flares are a bit much, besides that, it's perfect!
          Kind Regards,

            I didn't understand this clearly.
If I am not wrong, you have all the exisiting walls of your room and you put a camera very far from the room and you disabled the "visible to camera option"
Then did you delete bottom faces of the wall where it touches ground?

Yep ....it's done exactly that way although I wouldn't worry bout the face where the wall hits the floor/ceiling as you have to crop that part as it is black in the render anyway from not receiving any light. It's more for things like the props [TV & paintings] that hang on the wall [they also have 'visible to camera' OFF]

                Cheers

Done using standard 3ds max 'lens effects' I just rendered a flare & then overlayed it [quite badly...lol] in post

Make a layer in Photoshop with black background. Use the lens flare filter to create the desired flare effect. Set the layer to screen mode and move the flare to fit in the spot.

Is there a detection tool in Max, to detect objects with double faces? Or what is the best/easiest way to find these?

                        Thanks
