This was started for a job that we ended up not doing. I had most of the leg work done so thought I'd finish it off for the book. Pretty simple, but I was really happy with how much I could push Vray displacement.
Original render was at 4K across and the there's 3 levels of dielectrics, with very high reflect/refract values, area lights, GI, and most bells and whistles. It still rendered clean in just over 2 hours, and I really made no effort at all to optimize.
I love Vray
Bit of post in photoshop, and also playing a bit with Motiva RealCamera for fun too. Very nice little tool for taking that "cg" edge off of things.
Second shot is a detail of the hi-res.
