This was started for a job that we ended up not doing. I had most of the leg work done so thought I'd finish it off for the book. Pretty simple, but I was really happy with how much I could push Vray displacement.

Original render was at 4K across and the there's 3 levels of dielectrics, with very high reflect/refract values, area lights, GI, and most bells and whistles. It still rendered clean in just over 2 hours, and I really made no effort at all to optimize.

    I love Vray

Bit of post in photoshop, and also playing a bit with Motiva RealCamera for fun too. Very nice little tool for taking that "cg" edge off of things.

Second shot is a detail of the hi-res.

I am sure it has been said many times before, but you take the cake when it comes to doing condensation on product shots. Brilliant renders!

I had no issue with it, but I don't use anti-virus programs, so maybe I'm just having an issue without knowing I have an issue

Brett, i'm really amazed by the result of your image. It's just AWESOME. Did you do the droplets only using displacement ? and what do you mean by "3 levels of dielectrics" ? Sorry for the question but i'm a really curious guy .

                          Thanks

Yep, just displacement. By '3 levels' I mean that there is a liquid mesh enclosed in a glass mesh which is covered by water drops. All 3 using dielectric type materials means a lot of refractions of refractions of reflections etc. etc. Pretty complex and still renders very cleanly and quite fast.

Nope, I've shared the technique all along. I haven't shared the actual maps we made, but the methodology is no secret.

so if i understand correctly the mesh you are using for the water drops is just the same mesh as the bottle where you apply you displacement map ?
