  • Particle Interaction Test

    Hi!
Here is a testscene with a character and particle flow interaction that i made for fun and to relearn some animation skills after 10 months of Arch-Vis work:

    www.vector-film.de/Pdispersion.wmv

My last try with particle flow had network rendering problems with each slave rendering its own interpretation of where the particles should be and i ended up rendering the whole scene on one PC.
This one rendered fine in max2010 x64, maybe there have been some bugfixes in max or vray.

I am playing with the new reactor features now,
the new v3 engine is pretty fast but its crashing all the time with the fracture system.

Maybe i should get rayfire with PhysX support but thats only 32bits and i don't have that installed.
    Reflect, repent and reboot.
    Order shall return.

Man that is really really COOL!!!!!

I am stuck in an archviz world at the moment & it certainly makes you want to step out of the box occasionally.

That is really cool. How'd you do all that flowing motion of particles? Probably difficult to explain in a post.

Thanks! The particle flow setup is really simple, there are some free video tutorials about this on the excellent allanmckay.com website.
Basically an animated deflector moves through the object which emits particles on the startframe to cover its surface.
The deflector sends the particles to a new event where they are influenced by a wind spacewarp intead of beeing pushed away.
        Reflect, repent and reboot.
        Order shall return.

That is does sound quite simple actually - but still, nice and effective.

              You can find it here:

It's called dispersion or something like that.
