  • Ristorante Cantina

These images are from last year but I never did get round to posting them much online. They were both for a campaign promoting the Ristorante Cantina in Zurich, with the idea being that the ingredients couldn't wait to be used in the food.

In hindsight there are a few things we'd probably want to change if we could, mainly the vegetables look a little too dry & it would have been nice to put the vraysss2 to better use (there is some scattering on the onions, but it's not hugely obvious).

    Comments & crits always appreciated

Looks great, although maybe a bit disturbing; as if they're members of a veggie cult.

hehe nice, altough its a cartoon style you have some very nice photoreallistic materials and nice details, like the wood counter top with all the cutting mark, the cutting board, I can also see a little offset in the tile behind, subtle dof, nice work.

they all look really good, but I don't find them quite successful from a.. marketing point of view. I guess this is quite apart from your work and has much to do with the client's idea, but those carrots and onions slowly murdered by their own kind, and with a smile on their faces, is really disturbing. to me they look as if they were high on drugs.

LOL yeah it does look a bit crazy. The renderings look nice but the theme weirds me out a bit

It's possibly because I've seen these images for too long but I still find it strange how disturbing people find them...

Although that said, when I saw the initial concept sketches I did cry with laughter, so I'm probably not the best yardstick to gauge these things by!

Cool & Funny!!! I love them... You did mention about the materials not being spot on - seems too plastic for my taste. Adding wet look and more SSS will go a long way for sure.
