    Thanks for the comments, guys.

PIXELBOX: It's been a while since I last imported a DAZ character. I don't remember it being a problem, though you have to do all the posing in DAZ before exporting. The hair are alpha mapped, but I guess you could style your own hair in Max with enough talent and patience. What makes a big difference, I found, is in the materials. You need good shaders and good maps to sell those. I've got a few images of tests I made which I could post as soon as I put my hand on them.

Peter: Thanks. I tend to be quite minimalist in my post-work, though perhaps not as minimalist as you. I never paint any additional details and only limit myself to colour correction (nothing drastic), curves and lens effects. A propos workflow, I love the Sketchup timelapse you just posted on your blog, by the way. Might get me to finally give it a try. I've got something going on right now where I think it could be hugely helpful.

Awesome work! One thing I noticed in renders like these (just the best) is that you guys do something with colour channels. Am I right? I hope this is not a spoiler Like on the first image, if you look at the edges of reflector lamps in the ceiling, they have a slight cyan edge. I tried that in PS by just offsetting one channel by one pixel to the left for instance, but it's usually too much. Also, I tried enlarging the render, moving the channel and then reducing it back but I lost too much detail, although I DID get a nice non CG feel. Is there any other way, or do you just render large renders? Mine are usually 1200 in width.
