  • 3dconnexion challenge entry

Hey vray guru's. Thought I'd share a little something I did for the recent 3dconnexion challenge. Nothin fancy but had a lot of fun trying out a couple of the new vray 2.0 features.

Car crash done with cloth sim. Render out of vray was the car (via tweaking in RT, which I love!). Everything else composted in PS including broken glass. Tried to work with nvidia's new physX simulator, but wasn't a big fan.. so opted for PS.

    comments and crits most welcome.

    Happy holidays!

    Outstanding..
I wonder, how did you do the simulation with cloth sim..
    Best regards,
    Andrian

      Thanks Andrian,

I'll post some settings later on if you like, but basically, it was the cloth sim system (*not reactor). I took the body of the car and started with a burlap preset, modified it a bit and just dropped onto a ground plane, then moved into place according to my camera. I added the kink in the bar on the top in photoshop.

FYI, the car model was provided by 3dconnexion... did some minor modeling changes on the wheels.

        Looks great! I love it!

Definitely an interesting approach to the car mash-up.
