Very nice anim! I didnt know dreamscape could do such nice sunset glows.
I suggest u don't move the camera. This makes too much different things happen at the same time, and its difficult to focus on something.

        Hi all...

Goncalo… if it's not too much hassle, can u post screen shots of those settings. It will make it very clear to know where the values go in the dialogs.

Thanks in advance… and as always – Inspiring work!!!

        Regards,
        Bakbek.

              Hi again...

Goncalo, Thanks for the referance... i got the hang of it, but one thing remains unclear, i can't see where the Dreamscape sky is being defined as the skylight, or am i wrong to assume it is being used for that ??? or is it a given - by default it is a skylight ???

              regards,
              bakbek.

Prev1979, I love IES lights and this is the best Sunlight I ve used so far,...

Bakbek, Dream Scape is used as a effect to environment, instead of a normal map for the sky placed in the environment slot, so Vray will take the Information from it to use it as skylight.

                Hope this helps,

                Gonçalo

Thakns Goncalo... hope i'm not to much of a drag but... setting the collor mapping to 0.025 or around make the sky go all black even with the affect background off.

how to fix that ??? please

                  thanks, bakbek.

                    Use linear color mapping

                      Bakbek,

                      Now get back to skylight,

If we use the default skylight values with VraySkylight and/or a bitmap/HRDI map in the environment slot we would get a very dark skylight to work with.

If 1 (default value for color mapping)/Color mapping value = normal ouput color

means that if you use a color mapping values at 0.025, and need to keep the image at its original color in the environment slot, you will have to increase their output value to 40.

                      1/0.025 = 40
Hope this fix your problem, you can use a gradient ramp or a map you want as a background but you will need to change the output amount of the map to 40.
This is also true for the VraySkylight if you need to use it.

                      Gonçalo

I have tried your IES Sun setting, and it seems to be incredibly slow (30 mins plus at 320x240) at rendering.. most time, it just crash VRay all kinds of error messages...
I am wondering what's your speed with those IES sun on a simple outdoor scene? (eg. a plane with IES sun and 3 colored cubes)
