  • RENDERED ARTIFACTS?

hello all i have a question also this is my first time uploading an image to this forum so any critism would be greatly valued. This is rough for now its a concourse in a stadium. There seems to be something wrong with the renderign the trouble spots can be seen in the marked up version in red. Any suggestions on what the problem is?

    Thanks

make your rendering smaller with those settings and it shouldnt look that bad, to render larger images, your Irradiance map rates should be higher.......

      if i'm not still confused

try to increase the irradiance rate and decrease the value of Nrm thresh

high presets should do it, but for that size you can use -4,0 instead

increase the interpolate samples between 50-100
(note this will increase rendering time)
its kind of like blurring the irradiance map
i sometimes use this method if i dont want to increase min max rate
in some circumstances i get faster rendering times.
you get less accurate Gi but sometimes its not so noticable.

I am not sure, but those artifacts look like saved irradience map, and changing camera view to me...

It could be also the "Camara correction modifier" if so uncheck the "MAX-compatible ShadeContext (work in camara space)" under the Vray System options

i thought it wasnt supposed to be a good idea to use multipliers over 1?

try wacking just your Interp samples up to 60 or 80....i have seen something similar before, and that cured it, hsubdivs can be left low if your happy with the overall look of the gi...sometimes i get away with 15

                            cheers

ok guys i followed your suggestions THANK YOU SO MUCh and it all works perfect i get no artifacts of any kind very clean and sharp however the render times are through the roof... the irradiance map took 12 hours 39 mins on a P4 3.05 ghz HT enabled and 1.5 gigs of ram i was calculating the IR map at 512 x 389 below is the image and settings. Any idea how to decrease the render time?
