    I'm a very new user...
This is a VRay lighting attempt to realism (with a Despona model).

    Please critik ... and advice...

i think you need to light the scene with an HDR image, that way you will achieve some nice reflections in the paint work and more realistic shadows.

    good attempt

With the shadow in the position it is and the angle of the specular in the cars reflections I would think that there could be more light down in the alley way.

THere is that odd reflection on the rear fender?

If the car is lower poly, I can give you some tips to increase the poly count without loosing the design features.

If you're using anisotropic you may want to play with the parameters more or loose it altogether (they are still pretty confusing to me too )

      Looking good though,
      Have fun

        Thanx u 2 !

        I did some adjustement...
The car was lit by an HDsRI but hidden by the 3 huge wall !
So I lowered then and its better as u said Natty.
I equilibrate the spotlight (less) and teh HDRI env (more).

The metal is basic VrayMtl with ref :

How (and why) use anisotropic in it, Jon ?
This model is not so low (XXX) but still has defaults ...
so if u know how to refine geometry I'd be curious...meshsmooth maybe ?!

        The last version :

Not suggesting to use Anisotropy it just looked like you had and I didn't want to say no don't use it on cars because I'm sure some cars (Back to the Future) do use it. I was just suggesting to tweak it a little if you did want to use it

I'm not sure what that odd reflection was in your originals but they look much better now.

For mesh smooth I would suggest really playing with the visible edges to define the lines of the car and turn them to make it more uniform. The new images look allot better so I wouldn't really suggest using Meshsmooth now.

          It's looking good

and UP the reflect color on the material

looks a million times better .... well done.
i think the paint should be more shinny

              nice.........
