  • High-res noise artefacts

Hi, i'm experiencing higher resolution rendering,
and i discovered some strange noise effects on my walls.

Settings are standard, and even when leveling up GI min rate/max rate,
i can't get rid of this noise...
Noise which i don't see on small res rendering.

I played with interp samples and hsph subd, clr thresold or nrm etc...
the difference is very poor for much more rendering time.

Do someone know how i can avoid this ?
Is the only solution using higher GI min/max rate values ??

This problem happens mainly (if not only) with skylight penetration.

    here are the examples:

    Thanks helping me!

you cant get a good and rich illumination with Vray with only skylight for interior scenes, thats why there is the option for skylight portals, you should try it.

Yep i tried skylight portal, and i have no problem with any kind of arealight setup.

But if i want good result with skylight only, isn't that possible ?
Don't matter why, it's up to me

PS: the shots i show are details of render with both sky and directionnal/area lights, the noise problem appear in the zones where skylight influence is predominant.

You should try photon map too

          good point

but... does that mean that smooth indoor walls with skylight is impossible without huge render times ?

            Yes, I think so...

You can allways try to use a very high multiplier for the skylight, but usualy Vray becames slow when we force to much the multipliers...
