    Hi,

you need the camera mapping tool from the render tool thread at the tricks forum. Than you create a soft studio ground, convert the NURBS to a fine mesh and use Davids camera mapping tool.

      Hi Micha,
i try to make some render of my project like yours:but the water and other things are "a little bit" different(bigger different).
      This is a little test:

I'dont' understand what you say about "emissive textured water"!what kind of textured?i think the effect of brightness zone in the water is the result of this texture!can you explain better?
      Thanks!
I'm learning and alla kind of help is very important!
      Thank you so much!
Sorry for my bad english!i'm italian ;D (not good in languages)
Oh, i forget.... Yours are Very very very fantastic works,
and good example for newbie and no newbie.

Re: Michas Gallery (update 19sept 2007)

        Hi,

this emitter water material method can be used to get a look of clean water with a visible ground like from a coral reef. The ground can be faked by a greenish, blueish "ground" texture at the emitter layer. Per default the emitter layer of a VfR material block the layers behind, so the emitter layer must be set at a high transparency like 250,250,250. A high emitter intensity bring it back, make the emitter texture visible again. Adjust it per test rendering. Best add a black diffuse material layer, so that the calculation is stoped behind the reflection layer.
Like for every other water material a wave bump texture must be used.

Re: Michas Gallery (update 19sept 2007)

          Thank you so much Michas!
Now i'm trying to make what you said!
I'm searching for a good bluish, greenish ground texture, in my libraries and in internet.
My water material in the image is infinite plane with wave bump (planar world system without blend bump) and another circular plane deformed, under the boat with the displacement (same waves and settings of the bump). I try to make the water emitter materials for the circular plane.
          See you soon with tests!
          Thank you!
          Blackcoyote.
          p.s. i try this image

Another question! Is the ground texture in the emessive materials uvw explicit map or planar world? Thanks

Re: Michas Gallery (update 19sept 2007)

You use an infinite groundplane right - than you must use planar world. If you use a big plane, than you are free to choose what you want.

For the ground I used a "white stone with moss" texture in the past, light blue colored,

                  Misha, that water is fantastic.

But where did you found the textures for water and for bump? I am failing at finding good tileable water texture (ocean water) on the internet... and also, the big waves displacement texture cannot be found anywhere.

I used a wave map that I found at the Flamingo forum and also the photoshop cloud renderfilter create something that looks like ocean water.

did you use the fog setting in the images 35 & 36. I got a water material from the dowload section. But icant load it into version 1.0. I tried to remake the material it has some refraction and reflection and a fog color but it comes out white when i render it... but when i put a color in the refraction it does color, but in the material editor i doesnt has a color just plane white

No, a fog color isn't needed here, but if you use an underwaterground plane with different highs, than the fog color could be a nice additional effect. Play with the fog color multiplier - the multiplier is dependent from the scene scale/units.

ive got this water material from the download section cant load it into vray v1.0 but tried to remake it. it has some reflection and refraction and a displacement map. in the refraction setting it only has a fog color. But in my render it doesnt show the fog color.

I don't know why the fog color dosn't work for you, but you should get a water effect without fog too.

Micha, I admire your work for some time now, I'm a SU user , not rhino, and I want to ask you about your 60 and 61 images. I have to render a car for a friend of mine this weekend, and I would like to know what's the setup for those particular shoots. I really want to achieve this kind of quality, but it seams I can't, and I tried, believe me ;D
                                Regards,
                                Stefan
