Hi everyone i read all the messages in this topic
i use "Studio Lighting.hdr" for my scene thanks Travis for this.
and i gave the other settings of my scene.i make clear glass material's IOR to 2.417 delete the diffuse layer and check the "double sided" in the options menu. my materials name is DIAMOND-COSEF. i cant get any quality images like Travis. Where i am doing wrong? Also i didnt attach any bumps images to diamond and gold materials. Gold is standart gold-shiny material that comes from vray.
cosef. the trick is to only use the studio hdr for the metals and not the gems. Give your gems some color to reflect/refract. Since V-Ray cannot do dispersion you sorta have to help it out a little bit.
Wow, what a nice gallery you have. It's awesome, it's just that it looks pretty expensive. Anyway, nice creations. Love it. All good render. Its looking real good, so have some fun and play around.
Have a nice day..
really nice work saaed i like 1 and 3
cosef really nice gem, you may improve the metal part a bit
travis thanks for sharing your expertise
I will try rendering some jewelry too
I got a quick question about the HDRI maps, especially in jewellery. When I use it in GI and in the background I seem to get either a black blotch right in the middle of the ring where the stones are, or very stripey look, but not the nice crisp shiny metal effect. If someone could point me to the right direction as what I am doing wrong that would be great! And a hint of what kind of map is the best to use in jewellery would be grand too...
Thanks!
