          Re: my test interior

its very humbling mhd.akmali. but i think all of us start with frustrations whenever you cant produce what you like. i did. i even gave up this software during its beta time, because of lack of resources ( help/manuals) at that time. joe and the gang i think did an enormous job in producing these manuals. i was actually inspired by some of the guys work in this forum (cauldwell and mado plus those images rendered in rhino), then i gave this software a second try. I downloaded the new release and voila, i did produce a satisfying image ( which is the living room with filipino superhero on the television), from then on i strived by trial and error.

          tips on my interior lights.

          1. make a small rectangular omni light inside the receptacle. this light should be visible. it will act as source light. i ussually assign a high multiplier ( between 500-1000). cones and scallops will be formed by the shape of light receptacle itself.

          2. i make test render then ( under global switches) i tick the override materials and i make all other settings minimal. to quickly have a clay render to see the effect of lights.

          3. sometimes i am not satisfied with the distribution of light inside the room. so under that receptacle i will make another rectangular omni ( one sided, normal facing down, invisble). this second omni will help to distibute the light inside the room then. thats. it.

                  hi solo,

i added bump map. on the bump slot. using ps i use the same texture and made it black and white, in order to enhance more the bump of this black and white map, then i increased the contrast between white and black.

mohd. akmali. they are under the download section of this site. once you click it on the left side you can find "My files" then once you click that they are under the section vray for sketchup. if you want to practice those in the manual, you can also download the scenes there. hope will help you.

This looks really good. You do like your low angle viewpoints, and I think it gives your images that extra something. Good job too on the textile - very nice. Just needs a few 'objects' to set it off. Excellent.

                      david,

thanks. dont know why i like low angle. i even did some worm views before. i also like the high ones, as if your head is near the ceiling. i actually used displace map but, the geometry seems doesnot affected. it was actually a struggle. but it came like that so i just left it that way.

Nomer, care to share some lighting tips? I think you're a master when it comes to lighting. I'm struggling with lighting and i'm at a loss right now. :'(

Can you give me at least some configs on how to make omni and rectangulas lights? What are the best settings for interior lighting?

                        Many thanks in advance.

                        Mike

i say nomer that is beautiful!!! textures and ligting are great....but it doesnt look cozy like the one in the two slider program.

                              but both are great.
