  • EXTERIOR PERSPECTIVE USING VRAY FOR SU(red car + blue car)

Vray For SU. No bump, no displacement used for fast rendering. C&C are most welcome.

red car - no post processing except the background.

will u be doin a slower render version!
this thing would be a cracker if u could add displacement to the roof tiles and the stone cladding!!! and give the car materials a some reflective properties!
the concrete pavement in the foreground in the second image doesn't look rite... the first image's is better!
oh and if possible add curtains inside those windows!

Yeah...Noted! Thanks for the C&C's. The thing is, this is an actual project with deadlines involved. Anyway, I'll try to add those if time permits.

Looks good but you need some better ground textures - these look like a chocolate dessert!
Have you got an image in the environment slot?

Yeah David, I better get some good ground textures. Thanks for noting that too. I don't have an image in the environment slot. Why?

There are some good ground textures here (you might have to adjust them to suit)

If you put an image in the environment-background slot as an 'environment' you can get some good reflections off your windows which will help with the realism.
I think your roof tiles look ok - quite realistic at this angle.

            Good Luck

Thanks David! Will look around and see what I can do.

mike this is already good for intial presentation. and i think the setup and model is good. perhaps you can add metal reflection(look at rhino help how they do the material for car metals--- double reflections), bumps, refelction on those lamps, more reflection on the glass, slight soft shadow, etc.. it may take a abit longer rendering but it will gonna be one of the best exterior render here.

David, I tried putting an image in the environment slot but it didn't work out well. The sky turned all black and the glass turned off its reflective properties. Why is that so?
I attached the image and set it as environment, as well as texture but still negative. How can I put a better reflection on my glass? Do I have to put billboards in front? Put HDRI in the env settings?

                  Thanks in advance!

Salamat Nomer. I tried rendering another image and tried to put the reflections on the car, displaced the bricks, and put bumps on the floors, unfortunately, it didn't work quite well. My pc froze because of lack of RAM. I only have 1gb of RAM and some system resources are eating it all up. I wish I could have additional RAM up my sleeve.

It sounds to me like the bitmap multiplier for the image you have use needs wanging-up. I set regular jpg's to about 50000 like this (also note the other settings)

Billboards - I now only used these if the 'environment' background doesn't give me the correct reflection. So then I position a billboard, where it will reflect in a particular window.

If I was you I would keep the car simple - just add a reflection layer to the material, after all, the image is not about the car but the building.

                      Good Luck

                          Updated perspective
Displacement on roof tiles, put curtains, changed the road texture map, put hdri on the env settings. I'll try to make another one with soft shadows.

Special thanks to Jenu, Nomer & David for their tips & suggestions!

Anybody here wanna comment on my revised exterior perspective? Need some inputs... Thanks!
I'm now working on the reflective layers & displacement issues. So far, i've incorporated them and cut the file by half.

Its looking good. As you say, softer shadows would be nice. Have you got a background with some blue sky - to match your sunny view?
I'm still not sure about those concrete textures, but everything else is fine.
