here is my first try of interior rendering, a room of a yacht. i am sure it can be improved it but i cant see what i have to do or what is wrong (not real).
C&C are most wellcome.
Ah, quite simple, light blury refraction and a half transparent diffuse layer. The VfR exported only the submaterial, but I suppose, you use the "blind" material for back and front.
-fix the verticals a bit
-increase render quality (I think lowering noise treshold and upping global subdivs to 2-4 will do)
-its all a bit too symmetrical, the cushions and blankets. Maybe also add some traces of live: a book, shoes, plant or anything like that.

i have a problem with that blind material it is reflecting things but the source material doesnt have a reflection layer. do you guys have an idea what is causing that?
here is a test render. blinds have same material and geometry. far one has reflection on it as you can see
no it is single extrude of a zig zag Pline. i will check the normals but from my point of view this geometry has a 2sided material which means it doesnt matter if the normals are flipped am i wrong about that?
looks good! For final rendering, I suggest you turn on color clamping and sub pixel mapping to get rid of the jaggies near bright spots in the rendering
