    This is my latest work.

Made with Vray. Used Vray MTD on the cliff. Trees is Speedtree. Grass is PaintFX in Maya converted to polys and brought in to Max. Everything else is modeled and uv-mapped in Maya.

    Highres can be found here

              looks really good....
however it's kinda ironic that you model/texture everything in maya and then make the effort to port it all in max.....hehe ..how's that mRay treating you in maya??......

Mental Ray? It's ok but it's faaaar from being as user friendly as etiher Vray, fR of Brazil. And when it comes to speed Vray really kicks a$$. One really good thing with Vray is that you can have veeeeery low settings and still get a hum of how it will look. I have tried S&H but for Maya. It's great but I haven't tried it in max.

And when it comes to modeling/texturing it's not effort at all. I just model it and make the uv cordinates then I just save it as *.obj and open up that in max. Then I make the textures when I have it in max. Don't see any big effort here. Especially considering that I save a lot of time modeling in maya instead of max. For me it goes a lot faster.

How did you create the rocky / muddy face under the grass, modelling and surfacing? Are you using Darktree textures for the muddy look?

If you read what I wrote about the image I said that I used Vray's MTD for the cliff.

And for you people that haven't figured out what that stands for it means Multi Triangle Displacement.

                        It works great!!!

Tried fR Stage-1's MTD.....come on!! What are they doing??!! The results are totally ok but the render time? Duuuude....
