      Re: New Renders

      Congratulations MarkO!!

Very very very nice work. I couldnĀ“t see it completely, but the last 3 or 4 renders are enought to apreciate your talent.

Could you give a trick for wood materials? They look amazing on your bedroom renders.

Thanks a lot and best regards.

        Re: New Renders

Hi Sony, and thanks for your comments.
With regards to your comment about the wood grains, I now use wood grain jpegs that represent a real world area of 2700 mm x 1200 mm, the images come from a manufacturer of MFC, (Melamine Faced Chipboard) sheet material, the sheet material is manufactured to a size of 2700 mm x 1200 mm.
When I have modelled the parts I then apply the wood grains and always keep the mapping at 2700 x 1200 this ensures that no matter what size the model part is the grain stays to a correct scale to the real life material.
I always struggled with my wood grains because the images I worked with in the past only represented a real world size of around 300 mm x 300 mm, I would then have to tile the grain or stretch it, and both ways looked terrible.
What I use now covers most furniture parts and is a much more accurate representation of its real world counter part.
        Regards
        Mark

          Re: New Renders

          Thanks a lot, MarkO.

Yes, the mapping is now one of my problems. The images that IĀ“m using are small, maybe 300 x 300 mm as you told.

But what I meant on my previous reply was that I was searching a trick for the configuration of the wood material, like reflections layers, etc. I donĀ“t know if I can get renders like yours only with big images of the texture, although, itĀ“s clear that ilumination, vray set up, etc. matters

I invite you to see the most recent images that I posted; they are very simple models, IĀ“m trying to start from the beginning. The post is called "Simple renders... kitchen drawers doors"

          Thanks a lot. Best regards.

            Re: New Renders

Hi Sony, I have added the wood grain to the repository under wood for you to download and give it a go, remember when mapping to always make 2700 in the direction of the grain and 1200 across the grain to keep it correct to its real world counterpart.

I have also added the carpet from the new renders, It is set with bump map and displacement and is tiled at 20x20, adjust the tiling to suit your room size, play around with the bump and displacement until you get what you are looking for.

also added a cherry and oak vismat to the wood download area, same settings as the dark cherry, map as above

            Regards
            Mark

I would also love to see some 3d plants there.

                              Re: New Renders

The scene outside could be very bright and washed out (no deep black). And for mirrors I use light warmgreen tint often. Door paint could be light blury.

But I don't want forget - the renderings are quite good looking!

Congratulations Marko, It looks very nice, stunning to be honest, I just have one question the spotted blanket it's just a surface and you used a bump in the texture, because it looks very much as blanket
