you mentioned vraylinkedmaterial, so i guess you are using the first version of vray for sketchup and not the SR1 release.

the good think about vraylinkedmaterial is that you can change the texture size in sketchup and as long as the difuse map is the same you get just the right result.

this is something that i am missing in SR1

you are quite right im still using the vray link material as the Service released version had alot of problem with my old skp files. still loving the old one. anyhow the rendering time between the vraysu and srealese versions are the same.
