      Re: Interior Washroom

Luxurious bathroom! And very, very nice rendering!

Put some blinds on their though... don't want everyone to see me whilst doing my business...

I still am not sure how to apply textures properly. Like your tiles, for example... How large was your tile image? And what did you do with the texture?

I am currently doing a project and I have some cladding to put onto my model. I made a cladding texture and a bump map image for it also. It's around 700x700px. I made the diffuse option as Bitmap and added this image. The texture mapping is on explicit map channel with 1 map channels. But I had to change the UVW transform repeat for u and v to 0.05 for the scale of the cladding to be correct. Is this how you did it, or am I missing something? Help would be very much appreciated!

      Again... fantastic stuff

        Hey,

        Glad you like it,

The Tile I used is very simple. It's a texture from Got3D.com. Its 1200 pixels x 1200 pixels. All it uses is a diffuse map, which is my JPEG image and a bump map which I put in the bump map section. Unfortunately Got3D does not give you specular maps to go with the patterns, so you can either make your own specular map or just add some reflection and refraction and tweek it till it looks right. As far as scaling the tile I do it all in Sketchup. As long as the bump map was created from the Diffuse map they should both scale together in sketchup, and render the same. The only time I adjust the UVW repeat stuff is when Im using a bump map with no diffuse map, thus I cannot really scale it in sketchup. Their might be better ways but this works great for me.

What kind of clading are you using? brick, stone, vinyl, wood ? I might be able to help you out
        with some diffrent maps.

If you have some spare change saved up Id suggest looking at Arroway.de for some high res. textures. They have amazing stuff
and usually the textures are 6000 pixels x 6000 pixels and come with its bump and specular map. The DVD's are pretty expensive but I have bought single textures with them before using paypal, so they are pretty cool people that way.

          http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/445006/cl...%20texture.jpg

This is the cladding I used. It's a wooden cladding that I took from an image off the internet. I then used Photoshop to make it into a pattern and then used the OnOne Genuine Fractals plugin to make it larger.

          Regards
