  • WIP - Bedroom

Some work in progress. Can anyone help me make the quilt look more realistic? Looks too smooth to me.

I still have bits & pieces to add to give it some life, and make the rug look better.... when I get the time!!

    Any other critique very welcome.

    Cheers!

use simcloth on the blanket. it looks like the gravity is very low in the room )

I used simcloth to do the quilt. Guess I'll try removing the smooth option.

Anyone know where I can get a stitch bump map. Couldn't find one anywhere!

well if you used sim cloth i would say the problem isnt with the smooth modifier, but with what point along the animation the mesh is, it looks like its still in the process of settling.

Maybe it helps, if you increase the subdivis or lowering the interpretation samples to get a sharper GI...

a vray light in the windows may help illuminate the scene more naturally

reduce the stiffness of your simcloth modifier so it fits your matras better.

you got some strange shadows going on .... the handles look strange on the wardrobe.

Tanveer - My images all seem to end up this way, but I can't figure out why. Any suggestions?

Natty - I thought the shadows look fine given the direction the light enters the room.......

Is it just me or does that bed look extremely long, especially if compared with the size of the Cupboards and the hieght of the roof. Maybe its a basketballers house

Usually a grown man will be about a foot or so shorter than the actual bed, so the bed can always easily stand up on its end without hitting the roof. That bed would stick a good 3 feet thru the roof by the looks of things.

Mind you looking at it again, it could just be the camera angle.....great render tho.

flipside - I'm using the area AA filter (Size 1.5). Do you think I should use an alternative?

Da Force - Good point on the size of the bed. Mind you I'm tall so it would be perfect for me!
