  • vrayfree+the definitive guide to splotches

    Hi, can someone look and the image and setting and tell me what i am doing wrong...i have read the guide to splotches and increased the samples etc, but the splotches still wont go away

    i use 3dsviz 3.0i, vrayfree 1.09.03m
    one direct light and hdri for lighting....

      You should try without photons maps. They are not really for outdoor scenes.

        Hey I think you should try all the default settings again, use the skylight as and sunlight as 1.0, and press render

            ahh. now i can see the images...not that this has anything to do with the lighting or settings, but you should definately get a better grass map...this one is super tiled and is really distracting since it is the entire foreground.

              Also i wouldnt bother using HDRI for lighting in this scene as it wont really be visible. And just makes it hard to look nice

                Turn off GI and work on your lights frist.
                I recommend:

                  here's another good one!!
                  I own this one and is sofware non-specific so you can carry the concepts he talked about w/ any 3d package.
