  • Render with Depth of Field

Just a render i made in my spare time..
What i have a lot lately...

First render for me with Depth of Field.
Everything is rendered, there are no backgrounds or hdri maps.
Well, not true.. just a little piece of "background" in the windows.

      Great job. Very realistic.
han3d is right about the edges of the sugar cubes.

Re: Render with Depth of Field

They are brand new cubes ;D
I was more busy with the displacement map (noise) for the cubes then the shape..
        Didn't thought about the shape...

Well I'm making a new render with not too sharp edges on the cubes.

Maybe it's my monitor, bit it looks a bit dark.

But the DOF effect is nice.

I love it, very photorealistic and a nice film noir/70's maffia movie feel to it. The slightly cold green hue to the light works for me, reminds me of a cellar bar I used to work in! An ashtray and cigarette would complete this still life perfectly.

Wow! This is VERY photoreal. I love the mood you've set, it's refreshing to see a render that isn't all about being bright and cheery (which are most that I do for my work).

My only comment, besides the sugar cube one, is the spoon -- it might just be me, but it seems a little to "rigid" and straight/flat to me. But it might just be that I'm used to spoons with more curved handles.

              Great job,

Re: Render with Depth of Field

Well, it's the spoon i use at home for my coffee.
                Simple but effective spoon

But i made this rendering just for fun, and for my portfolio.. Since I'm looking for a new job.
Usually i make renderings of yachts, and some renderings of there interiors.

Re: Render with Depth of Field

I added some other stuff on the table.. Ashtray and a remote.
Tried to make the cubes better looking.. But it messed up my sugar displacement mapping.
So back to the old brand new cubes ;D

                      Nice!

                      Some ideas:
Make the cup look like it's been used. smudges around the top edge. Maybe a stain ring on the table.
