Thanks Remon, Indeed about the faceted materials Nomer. They were off 3d warehouse. In the final I am going to model my own, so I wont have this problem. Thanks for the comments.
I think this is a very accomplished render. Lighting, materials etc are spot on.
However! If I was a photographer shooting this scene, I would clear away the cup and try for something interesting, but too distracting in the foreground. At the moment I think the cup is whimsical, but not whimsical enough - if you know what I mean.
Still - very good render.
Thanks for the comments; this has been one of my first projects I can actually post, so it’s nice to get some external advice from all the experts.
David, please explain a little more about the whimsicalness (if that’s a word) of images. I kind of get what you are saying, but I really want to learn some new techniques.
What I meant by whimsical, was that the cups appear to be in the scene, to convey something - I thought humour (whimsical
). If the cups are not there to convey something - humour, friendliness, cosiness etc. then I would not put them in as in all other respects they detract from the scene, which is otherwise very good - that is all I meant.
