What's the actual version of VfSU that you're using? At one point our defaults used DMC, which would explain the incredibly long render time.

It's pretty much impossible to give you visopt advice without anything to go by other than an image and "default visopt". 85 hours is extremely slow for VRay (about 85 times too slow for such an image) so there must be something seriously wrong with your visopt setup. Post screenshots of your visopt settings and you'll likely get a bunch of advice in no time.

Nice image BTW, though those red trusses are distracting and don't fit at all with the rest of the building IMO. :-\

and another to add some more..
is it the amount of rectangular light used do affect the render time?
bacause i use a lot of it at this model..
each lvl i used more than 10 set of rectangular light but they r all identical
except the yellow 1 and those glaring 1

              thx a bunch thomthom..
that will answer all of my problem....
so use the rec light with stored with irradiance shuld greatly reduce the amout of time it take?

so with the visopt setting that i put here
the irradiance map's HSph. subdivs and smaples shuld be increase..
so that there is no splotches on surface?

Re: my very long render time 85 hours

I never use DMC, try switching your secondary engine to Light Cache and you'll see your render times drop dramatically. Also change your DMC Sampler Adaptive Amount to 0.85 instead of 1.

Other than that your visopt parameters look fine.

in my humble opinion Irradiance Map and Light Cache are the best combination for fast and quality renders, it would be good got switch to those, or get a pentium :P hahaha just kidding
