  • time to introduce myself

Since Leon left my office, it's time to introduce myself here at the forum.
I've been watching this forum for some years now but never actualy posted under my name. This forum was Leon account.
So here I am. With the first image I port myself and probably more to come. I do mainly architectural visuals in my small office (only me now) and am most of the time very busy. Quantity instead of quality. I'm in the process of turning that around again.
So here's an image of a scene I did as free work. It not realy finished work, I use these scene's to test out different things. Whenever I have the time that is.

    So give me some crit.

    Hi Marc,

    Nice image!
I am wondering if the shadows on the wall are result of some caustic proccess or just a photometric light?

I would only increase the number of polygons of the table, 'cause it seems a little strange. Otherwise it's great.

    Regards,
    Joao.

      Hey Marc

The light pattern on the wall looks really great. Nice image.

I know the game of quality vs. speed, as well. But with vray it should be easier to shift the emphasis to quality.

      cheers

        Thanx Joao,

And yes, you're right about the table, it is crude. I got it from the Herman Miller website. Although I replaced the table top, I didn't get to changing the wooden frame yet. Normally I don't use this upclose.

The light is made out of a couple of omni's (8 I think) with Vray shadows, haven't found a simpler way yet.

For those who are interested in more work of mine:

I'm working on an updated site, so it's just a directory list, yet.

Ah...that explains the strange shadows under the table, like the shadow the stack of magazines is casting.

Try with a vray light instead, or maybe even geometry with a self illuminating material?
          Signing out,

            Wonderful image.
The material of the red chair is fantastic. How to do this?

            Thanx

Nice to see you here more!

I really like the feel of your image, and I suggest you to try simcloth in your seat and table legs, it use to work great in cases like this to smoth the mesh

Ok, for the rest of people, just tell them Marc had showed before in full light in this forum:

                    nice render.

Im really interested in that light, any chance you could post some more details? i.e. wireframe, material details, how you got the light to look like it does on the wall.

                    THanks

You can get the model from www.e-interiors.net plus many more. but i dont think it comes with the light information.

                      regards,

                        Paul,

I must be honoust about this. The image you refer to was done by Leon while he was working for me.
It's a very very good copy of a photograph.
I believe the concrete texture comes from Gonçalo and if we had the 'highlight only' material back then (I can't live without it now) It would have been perfect. Most of the images that you know as being from Leon were done under my supervision, but not this one. This was completely done by him. As are the Gilardi house image and the glass pieces images.
