To say this is amazing would be an understatement. I'm having some problems making my wine glasses look decent, especially with wine in it. Any information you could share would be appreciated.

      Thanks,

      S.

        Hi Maxer,

They look great , especcialy the reflections. I think though that the refraction at the top of the stems is incorrect for the glasses with wine/etc. in them.

        Here's some reference:

That's because of the different transition between stem and top, and also camera angle imo

Actually I think it is a biproduct of the "romove inner faces" trick. I am looking forward to see what Vlado's new refraction will do

Here's a quick preview of the refraction in the upcoming build:

              And an animation:

The models and the simulation isn't perfect, but at least is shows how well the new refraction works.

                Thanks for the preview egz!

But what is new, how does it work? Why is there suddenly some kind of new physical property of refraction that always has been overlooked or something? I would love to learn more about that

I believe it is an improvement in the interaction of coincidental ior's

The new build will have improvement to both IOR and fog, specifically dealing with situations where two objects overlap.

To create the animation above, I only had to make sure the liquid intersected the glass, VRay handles the rest.
