  • Interior scene (rendered with Mac beta)

    Hello folks,
After following the gallery for a long time I decided to make my first post/topic here,
this scene has been rendered with the current Vfsu beta on Mac which is getting quite
stable if I may let you know.

I would really like to receive some constructive criticism and such, also some help on render
settings would be great, as I have messed them up a bit and what made rendering this on
around 7 hours, it's just that I don't have much knowledge about the settings, because in overall
this beta does render faster in comparisons

    Cheers,
    Roevens Johannes :P

    hi foxar
for me the most important part of a render is illumination. everything is about it, and you achieved a very good one.
i liked the design and speciallly the wood material, but i think you went a little too far with the displacement, maybe a smaller value for the multiplier would be more real.
and also those color waves in the darker parts... those things appear when we play too much with the lens correction, shadow/higlights and exposure in photoshop...
in my opinion, your render would be soo much better if you play with camera parameters and try to get as far as you can in v ray, and then go to photoshop...
it's still a very impresive sceene

Hi, thanks, well I think the main problem is that these colorwaves were already quite noticed in the raw render, I tried to keep to hide it somewhat in PS, but
indeed it only made it look even more noticeable. Could this have something to do with my render settings eventually?

I'm glad you like the image though

      Cheers!

@ arqestevez1, it seems I found the right parameters to mess with and so I did, here's the result of a newer render I've let cook.
thanks again for the comment, I appreciate it!

        NB, more images to come

        Grats ^^

i really like how you managed the light on your render, you dont have that much to learn from me, about the settings, maybe you are using DMC? or QMC? those are a bit slow engines, not bad, but slower, if you are not using it yet, you could try irradiance map perhaps? thats my favorite engine, it took a while to get the hang of it, but once you get it its really fast and delivers great results!

wow... i love the way you illuminated this sceene...
            another comments...
-smooth and subdivide to the coach. (both metal and leather)
-a little transparancy for the big leaves of the plant
-if you were really watching to the outside like that, the background wold soo much brighter...
-and i'm still seeing some dark spots in your wall, as well as a little reflection at the right part... i always have that kind of issue... what render engines are you using?

I love the poster-frames in your second render.. works very good with the glass in front of it!

              Some points:

You could get some more realism in your renders with better models of the corbusier's and bxy doing the plants afterwards in photoshop.
In the first image i think the plant is not a real addiction but only disturbs the scene.
And maybe your renders can become a bit cleaner by putting in some extra interior lights, but i'm not shure about that (regarding to the 'pixelarisation' on the upper right corner of the first image.

              But overal, nice renders!
