    Re: Matt's Gallery

    Dave,
thanks for your review! ...good one about the book - I will try this soon!

I know, the glass looks a bit odd, I've played with the fill a little but I didn't succeed yet. I don't quite get it, why a translucent material plays tricks on me when being surrounded by glass.

As for the .vismat, I'll post it tomorrow when I'm back at the office computer!

      Okay,
I've stripped down the scene and packed it with both textures for grass and wall into this ZIP file. Of course, diffuse textures need to be reassigned.
Anyways, feel free to explore visopt and materials - everything done with displacement.

      Cheers,
      matthias!

        Re: Matt's Gallery

matt I liked your exterior renders especially the outside background is great

in 1st image the car is not so cool, at least you should put a ferrari or something for driving attraction

        your interior shot needs improvements
in the interior shot the hdr is too blurry in the background, either put some objects to cover it
untill you correct the glass refractions you may try replacing it a reflective object
and somehow you should increase the repeat value of texture

          Ozan,
          cheers for your comments!
The Audi was the first car to be picked from my object library. Lateron, I felt like getting rid of it. Choice of vehicles is a matter of taste

As for the background, the overbright might be an issue. But regarding the focal point, the DOF blur seems correct - in my opinion. Now, I've turned the camera a bit, giving way to darker areas of the backdrop.

Yep, the glass is empty now - I'll work on improving the refractions at another time.

Which texture are you referring to? The marble one? You're right...
I thought about giving it a different texture, since this one is not seamless. Or I'll rework it one day.

          So, here's that ol' booke:

            Re: Matt's Gallery

book is fine too, but the contrast in the scene is too high, especially the hdr
so without fixing background whatever you put in the scene will look burned

                  Simas,
                  thanks for your c&c!

Yea, it's been the first go and I thought about adding smoke but I didn't get to a solution yet... any ideas?

Concerning the lights, I've got these empty cross beams that I'll equip with some spotlights. I'm just a little afraid that the scene becomes too bright after all - which wouldn't be too good, since the crowd only consists of black silhouette billboards. But let's see how it works out

                  Cheers,

                        Adam,
I found several 3D plants over here!
The trees in the background are billboards Omar (arqestevez1) shared some time ago in this thread. Something happened, dunno...

                        hope that helps!

                        Cheers,
