  • My first dusk render Residential

Hi, I want to show you my first dusk render. There's still some work to do I think. I'm not very happy with the streetmaterials and lighting. Any tips are appreciated! C&C also welcome ofcourse. Design by Bias Architects, the Netherlands.

that is superb i would be very proud of that the only thing i dont like though is the car and the people, thats where it looks unrealistic! otherwise its marvellous!
I can see your faded halo,<br />And I can make it burn again, like the sun.

      Love the illumination!!

Dont love the brick... It totally takes away from the realism of the rest of the image in my opinion. Try a different material for fun. Or get a less saturated brick, something with more detail and maybe lighter in color.

Thanks for the comments sofar. The brick actually has that color! I have a photo of the sample wall, as it's going to be build. Could be nice to experiment with other materials though. About the people and car, yeah there just some 3dwarehouse models. Maybe it would look better with real photos.

Lightings good, silhoutte of the bloke in the foreground not good. Get rid of him and I think you have a great image - if thats an actual photo of the brick material then thats the architects choice not yours so dont even worry about that. Nice work!

Re: My first dusk render Residential

Hi thanks for the nice words (dank je!).
The settings are quite default. I only used a hdri image from hdr-locations.com. There's a free dusk one. http://www.hdri-locations.com/freesample.php
In the GI slot I inserted the hdri with a gamma of 0.95. This causes a bit of shadow (and artifacts ) I don't know if this is a correct way of using it, but it worked out fine for me. Rest is Photoshop work. Unsharp mask, vignetting, curves, etc.

                Regards,

+1 for the brick comment. Even though it may be that color, you might want to try a more identifiable grout color. I think it will help with the scale and presence of the material.

                    Super nice illumination though.....really good.
