hey man, nice renders... i loved the paintings
i think that you could improve the background... i feel like the illumination is not the same, but great job

the best way to eport from max to Sk without dealing with missing faces and all that stuff is to export from max to *.obj and import them on Sk with a free plugin just search it on google

what about the collada format? SU supports it now, I can't remember the file extension off hand... DAE is it? I dunno.

indeed sk 7 supports it but the import times are far higher on the collada format than the obj files

Nice details, Camionero! My fav. way to import objects, is to import as 3ds model, then use the wonderful "cleanup" plug-in/ruby made by Thomthom ( thank you Thomas). The model became light, smooth, and ready to use in another project, if you save it as component in your personal library.
                    Sorry for being off-topic.
                    Regards,
                    Stefan

Stefanq the only problem of the 3ds i have discover is the polycount limitation of the 3ds extension ...for example i cant export from max a tree to 3ds cause it has too many polys to export to 3ds format ..

about the plugin just google it "sketchup to obj" and you find it
