  • Company's New Website

    Hello Friends

My company is setting up its website (At last) still under construction..however most of the site is operational....

PLZ give me your feedback on its design and content...we plan on making 2 versions of it one Portuguese and One in English..so far only the english version is up...
Almost every Project was rendered with vray, especially the architectural portfolio....

The IN-House project's link in not active yet...

The layout is ok, it's pretty basic. But loose the popup!! It has no use at all, the site would perfectly fit in the normal window too. Popups are annoying (for a complete website that is) and they limit the navigation. No matter how many back and forword buttons you have in your site, people will always use the explorer back and forward button.

Also people with large screens will be forced to scroll to see the content on the bottom of the page. If you put the site in a normal window, I would be able to see the whole content at once and that's one of the reasons why I have a big screen!

When I click a movie in your gallery, it opens in the same window and doesn't fit the popup so I can't see the controls (quicktime movie - sprite basketball thing). Then I have to reclick portfolio-advertising to go to this section again (with standard explorer buttons I could have clicked back ) Navigation through the still images is also a bit weird.

    Content is good!

Don't take this too harsh, I only mean to give you constructive comments

    bye,

as a website developer for mostly design companies (architects, interior designers, etc...) here's some constructive comments:

1)Ditch the popup!! Completely unecessary, and very annoying
2)Don't take over my browser window!! If i wanted my browser window maximized, I would have done it myself! Again, very annoying!
3)The company logo. I dont know if it is an official design or not, but bad choice of fonts, the K looks like an H, and the SATEL looks too much like the SEGA font.....oh, I see now from the site text that its actually an X, not a K or H...should do something about that.
4)Overall design...concise and simple, good, loads very fast, good, but I'm not too fond of the red flashy stuff, it seems to counter the mood/feel of the site.
5)Tech use...its nice other people who can make do without using flash to do some complex looking stuff for site navigation and so forth. But that flash intro may be a bit much, not everyone is going to want to see that every time they hit your site.

If you want examples of my work, I'll be happy to post them

            no problem, here ya go:

www.virtual-design.net (the graphics company i work for)
www.kaa-architects.com (the parent architecture company www.kaadesigngroup.com)
www.granet.net (the flash thing is gonna be stripped i think, it shouldn't have been in there, but they wanted it, and i never got all the info i was supposed to)
www.victoriahagan.com (used to be a bit cleaner but they wanted more logos and crud scattered around)
www.victoriahaganhome.com (almost identical, different product lines, same designer)
www.madisonsfoundation.org (now going through a redesign as we speak www.madisonsfoundation.org/redesign)
            www.edgehillestate.com (password Rudd)
            www.peterson-wozniak.com
            www.andronicusalumni.org (still in design/development)

That's most of my professional-level web work...I'm not proud of all of them, learn something new on every project, but its a pretty good rundown and should help give you ideas on how to further the design of your site
