  • Bedroom- Final Final render (2nd page). Critics/opinions please :)

Okay, i've finally managed to finish this render completely (i think). I studied Architecture and I am used to harsh critiques, so please be as harsh and picky as you want. I want to improve and that's the best way to! I don't know why, but i'm still not convinced with my results, any tips or things that i overdid/underdid or need?

I've left the first render so you can see how crap it was heh.

    Thanks guys

Final render 1600px x 769px (so open in a new window to see it all, the forum crops it)

Hey try to add a different material to your walls and ceiling, using the same color and a bump texture but very sofe and increase the subdivision!

Thanks and yes i will do that to the walls, i put a plaster texture diffuse blended with a light colour as the walls but it didn't quite work out.

when you guys say burnt areas, does that mean light is too bright? for example, the canvas hanging on the wall?

I'll put an updated image up tomorrow at some point, so check it out

yep, burnt areas means that there´s too much light...

Alright guys, here is my latest version, please comment and advise on ways to improve it. I see the shadow under the footstool with noise as one thing in need of improvement, the books shelf looks a bit strange also and the lighting seems a bit colourless i think, and also the curtain made this render take hours longer than before!
              thanks

Yeah! I agree, some trees on the outside would create nice soft shadows to the inside.... "Here comes the sun... Todoo-doo-doo" Haha, the beatles in the reflection...

can i ask what version of vray you are using? is it the latest version? the 1.48.66?

your render looks so realistic, can you share your techniques to achieve such realistic renderings?

                    tnx

                            Okay i am back,

here is the latest render, i've added tree shadows, changed a few things, increased the amount of lighting and added some grass outside the window. Any advice on what to improve and work on now?

It's best if you click on the link to see the image by the way, in this forum images are cut in half and you have to scroll to the right (i didn't realise and only saw half of renders sometimes)

                            http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/7038/bedroom7.png

I'm using vray 1.05.30 Jepoy, my advice is to watch the video tutorials on this website as a starting point, read a lot of threads and do a lot of test renders. Also remember that even if something isn't perfect in the render you can fix it in photoshop, it doesn't have to render everything perfectly as long as you can fix it.

Arq, the blanket material is a a white material with a bump map (type: cloth) and the bed is a bed from google warehouse that i modified to make it look like i wanted.

                            p.s i'm 23, but a massive beatles fan
