The road's material is great and people in the street perfectly fits to picture . Maybe you could reduce a contrast of the nearest background (green trees).
The pavement doesn't look realistic. The picture in whole is great .
          Keep posting.

            Re: low income housing

nice job bro, but i think you need to improve the contrast and lights of some of your jpgs trees, sky images looks a little lowres to me and the road material has too much reflection, also i find this image a little dark in some areas, hope the feedback helps

            greetings!

              Re: low income housing

Thanks for stopping by Teo, I have not had allot of practice with exteriors so i found this series a bit challenging because i was asked to do only exteriors. For this particular scene I too thought the reflection of the road was a bit too much but it was close to the deadline and it was the only final res image rendered out on my slow machine. Useful comments and i will try to improve on exterior the next time around.

Re: low income housing (NEW IMAGE)

Are you sure those are low income housing? The new render look awesome. The grass seem to be a little bit thicker. That is because the scale of the displacement texture in kind of big. You can increase the repeat option on the displacement to produce a skinny grass. Anyway I like the render!

Re: low income housing (NEW IMAGE)

Thanks for the comments, actually the new image is a middle income residence, it was the only one in the lot. I tried to make nicer displacement but as soon as i change the settings i would soon run out of RAM. I sure was looking forward to sketchup 8 being 64 bit only to be disappointed.

the render looks nice, but your subject and the image dont.match.at.all.

This looks like a vacation row houses in South Carolina or Central America, not low income public housing in an urban city.

Re: low income housing (NEW IMAGE)

Thanks for the comments the definition of low income housing only applies to the first image the second is actually middle income as stated by the designers. The second image was added to the thread because it belonged to a the series of proposed development projects. the Caribbean is a funny place and i guess residential architecture here can have a different look and feel.
