    Hello hello !

Here's some piece of homework made during this week-end.
Everything is rendedred with Vray, excepted wakes and smoke which were quickly comped later.

The water is a nightmare but everything seems to work fine now (excepted the right part I'll block with a floating mine I guess).

As you can see, there's still some work to do.
Textures at first, the hull too, only rough...
Some other floating stuff, perhaps a WWI plane... Nothing is locked yet in fact.
Dynamically, the boat doesn't seem to advance, which is a heavy problem too.

    C&C welcome !

somehow the boat feels to me small, Maybe because there is no texture detail on it, or maybe something else, (size od the waves ?)
Or put some people (even that they mighty look very small) on boat but giving better proportion understanding. Just ideas, otherwise I like it.
Would love to see the finished version.

      Nice work.

But i dont get which direction it (she) heading...

If it goes from left to right, so why is a smoke comes different direction?

Otherwise if it goes from right to left, u should leave some space between it (basic principle of photography).

        Lol, I know.
We can't even say where the front and where is the back.

Finishing the hull might help too, since it's looking like a lofted object edited by a dumb person at 3 in the morning (me).

        Thanks for the crits.

So, how did you do water and wakes? They look amazingly real to me, as does smoke too!

Some really nice work, Gwen. Your link to what I take to be source material for you Dreadnough is simply stunning.

I'll hold any crit's till later. But as they are my fav steel ships of all time- I'm really looking forward to see where you take this. So far, so beautiful. If you can nail the myriad of details it should be great. Keep hammerin' on it.

                Thanks a lot.
The same, I've got a particular interest for that little boats.
Yes, it's going to be challenging to add so many little details, and then, keep control of the whole shape.
I'll have to redo many things on the boat, till they do not fit any more my needs.

                Let's see.

Ha, BzW, the water is quite complicated.
It's using 4 uv channels (for wakes, height map, + 2 different planars), falloff, vray reflection (very very low settings though), composite and masks...
I dunno any good looking water shader which may be simple or easy to set, in fact.
