  • Interior with a fireplace

    Hi guys,
we ve done this interior for the fireplace producer, its one of 50 interior variations we have to create ))
we ve got 5 unique interiors in the pipeline, changing cameras, mateirals and of cource the fireplace units.
this is one of the 1st finals we ve done.
Still fighting a bit with the PhoenixFD and the right camera exposure.....but i think am slowly getting there (ill probably have to reduce the cell size and the power of the fire)
PLS let me know your thougths

Credits for some of the models goes to Bertrand Benoit (apples and the books) and Designconnected site (sofas and the steel table - although i had to tweak that one to look ok)

    Best Regards
    Martin

    Hi,
Everything looks so nice You can make the room darker so we can see feel some lighting from the fireplace inside room.

I agree with pixela....now, I would use a winter or autumn background to really feel the fireplace there...it's too bright and it looks like summer outside.
        show me the money!!

It looks, well, ok. Do you have to animate the fire? If not i would rather use some stock images of fire. Faster setup and it looks more realistic in my opinion.

the jobs deadline is megatight and there are many views within interior.....sometimes tough angles
trying to avoid composition and rendering separate passes for whats behind the fireplace glass etc...
              therefore the 3D fire
its just the setup thats all ....i am getting much better and realistic results now...i am learning as i go

                the images look great overall.
i agree with the winter or maybe dusk outside images would be more fitting to the product - with the lamp on and the candles lit perhaps to give it a bit more drama?

also i find the foreground objects (apples / books on the floor) are stealing a bit too much focus from the fireplace.

                  Yes....agreed on all

Especially about the foreground stuff....way to distracting.....DOF would do the trick here & it would also blur outside as well so just the Fireplace is in focus & the center of attention.

                  Cheers

I agree with you guys on most of the things of course. Were producing over 50 variations of shots, interior types, camera angles and its VERY hard to compose the shots so that every shot is different and not boring. Ive got the dof there and ill emphasize it a bit more to get the apples out of the focus these long shogs will alway have something in the foreground.

Thanks for all the replies and constructive criticism, its really helpful and moves one forward!!!

                          hi Martin,

here is Andrey from Designconnected. Could you tell us what was wrong with the steel table, so we can look into it and fix it. And you'll get a refund on that one =)

                            Hello Xenry,

i had to fix the mesh a bit plus the mapping of the reflection map is quite large and actually could use a proper unwrap cos it looks weird at the top the way its mapped....
NO NEED to do a refund man....it was a quick one
                            instead,
pls have a look at the MAMA CLOUD light you have in the shop....its nicely lit in the preview but when i bring it to max, it renders quite bad...dont know whats wrong with it...i ve tried some things with it but did not have enough time to make it look right
