  • My first try with Photon map!

This is my first try with photon map.

Does anyone know some good tips to make the gaps between drawers and doors of the kitchen nicer? Maybe the gap is not big enough, i´m using a 3mm gap.

Think its a AA problem. try Adaptive subd. min.1 max.3 threshold 0.04 check random. maybe this will help.
    cheers

Try to check AA "Normals" it use to help in cases like this

        Thanks for the tips

The problem is, with that AA settings my render times went from a nice 10 min to 30 min., but it´s better. I´ll try with AA normals.

What´s the best Antialiasing filter for this soluction? I´ve used Mitchell-Netravali for this image.

Personally, I like Catmull-Rom - it's sharp like a hell, but it looks nice in interiors

I have to agre with larco catmull-rom i verry suitable for interior renderings if you whant the sharp look, that's what i'm using on my interior renderings, but always it's a matter of taste.

            nice rendering.

              thanks for nice comments!

Here´s another image (same project), this time with catmull-rom.

I just don´t know what happend to the ceiling and the top of the walls.

And when I tried to fix things (turning up photons and subdivisions) this is what happend.

And also, I tried to render with a panel in the outside as a background, but with the glass on the panel just don´t show up, and I tried several types of glasses, even with the egz material it didn´t work, any ideas?

Try to hide the glass materials for the photon map calculations, and also uncheck reflections/refractions, because Vray is trying to make caustics that is what produces this spots I guess

Thanks Gonçalo, I forgot to hide it in photon map calculation. Couldn´t solve the glass and background image though.

                  Here´s another image!!!
