I agree w/ both Brim and Miguel as far as OMA and MVRDV goes........they rely and build up thier percieved image as experimental and "on the edge" arch firms to push stuff out that many times is filled w/ conceptual BS but it's just a bluff......
on the other hand, because these and other high profiles designers are well known......they are like artists: the clients come to them because they WANT THIER PRODUCT not a generalized buiding......so that's why they can afford to do whatever they want......if somebody pays the bill.....and the key to that is clever, sometimes cunning marketing and image buiding.......like artists.

damn, that is one ugly motherFu**er!
.....he (REM Koolass) got caught up w/ that stupid grid steel+glass curtain, and even the interior ends up paying for it.........
I can't believe the clients bought that!!!.......if another firm would've proposed that they probably would've refuse it......or hve them change it

This is the finished rush job. I had to finish three jobs today, so they all came out so so.

looks good Marc!!.....the only thing is that the grounds look a bit too dark (maybe in shadow?) but overall they look good!

Mark the last image is nice looking, but somehow the render is too bright for the background.

Back to the architecture topic, that's what happens when they are no longer architects, but starchitects (where did I heard that before?)

                            Glass setting?

I was wondering if you could post your galss setting both clear and frosted glass?

Also, I was wondering what lighting settings you get. For Photomontage I have been using Viz daylight with vray (to get correct time of day) but sometimes is does not like to work with vray materials.
Any tip on lighting your scene?

                            Thansk a lot.

About settings. Nothing special: Direct spotlight on 0.8, little orange in the color. Environment 0.8, a little blue in the color. Linear color mapping. Use a spherical skymap as a reflection, don't use the background foto, the reflection will mess up, specially in the glossy department.
Glass, start with a black base color, reflection white (no fresnell, never fresnell), refraction white (check affect background, why isn't this standard on when refraction is more then black), in your reflection slot enter a p/p fall-off map, take the max down and the min up.
For frosted glass, same as above but then start with a white base color, the refraction a tad more gray, glossy on 0.6 and subdivs on 6. Then add a material wrapper, recieve GI on 1.5, send GI on 1.2.

I will be changing the last image because the sunlight clearly come from too far to the right, it should be comming more form the left. You can see that if you look at the two poles at the bottom of the picture.

But when will I have the time First I have to finish a birdeye view of another project.

                              Marc

hey, I was just talking about what this building looks like for me (come on WoZoCos is not so far from this building!), and it becomes a wide range critics on nowadays architecture!

Amazing! But now I like to know what kind of architectures do you really like guys. Or you think architecture (like art) is dead?
