    nully, I agree with you , destaurating the exterior does help quite a bit with the overall look.

    Sadly, the client doesn't. They want nice bright colors inside and outside. I tried to come to a compromise with the last image I posted but they don't like the blurring I added to the exterior.

    I should not have shown them an image without desaturating the background, even a test render. Live and learn, I guess.

    I need to experiment with DOF and learn how to do proper distance blurring and desaturating. As I said earlier, I have only done interiors and obviously I have a lot to learn about exterior shots.

    Thanks for all the comments, they do help to learn better ways of doing a render.

      I'm curious about large window shots like this render has.

      Do you guys do a seperate render pass for the background and then comp in photoshop? In the render I did, the grass, airplanes and hangers, trees are modeled, the mountains and sky are are plane with a map applied.

      The reason I ask is that I have about 20 more renders to do for this project and now they want them all to have lots of windows.
