Problem with vray lens effect

    Here is what I get (straight open and render), with both old and new version of V-Ray. I am missing 4 textures though, and the RPC stuff - don't know if that makes the difference.

      The scene file I used may have had RPC's in it at some point but no longer, problem is even when you deleate them all Max still looks for the plugin. Are you using Brute force or IR&LC because they only get bad with Brute force.

        Yes. If I select the objects with VRayLightMtl materials and turn off the "Generate GI" option in the V-Ray object properties for those objects everything is fine. For some of them you could try turning on the "direct illumination" option in the material instead, if you really need them to emit light.

          What about the fire fly's on the ceiling that are being reflected?

            Well, you could turn off also the "visible to relfections" option for the small lights below.

              yes i think they are specular reflections. which renders fine without the vray lens effects, but not when its turned on. it also disappear when i set the bloom and glare weight to a lower value. but the lens effect become very subtle.
              if you find a bug...kill it.
