We get spoilt a lot in this industry with too much direction & reference sometimes. You're always going to have to deal with vague information & clients who don't know what they want, take the initiative and do it how you want it to be done. Give them what they want before they have to realise they want it.
I think this is also where the 'technical vs art' discussion is relevant again.

I agree but i hope you and everyone will agree that when no direction & information from client we need to do it on our own.. which needs time & time means money! nowadays every one want every thing to be cheap.. I agree we have to face competition too but - less money + No Feedback + falling economy = frustration.. I noticed almost every thread like this with frustration, in the end leads to same direction i.e. no money
I also want to do lot of research.. want to give lot of time to every project , lot of detailing, want to produce image which will get appreciation.. not for price but for personal satisfaction... Art is something which comes with peace of mind, but where is the peace of mind to do this..with mortgages.. growing kids.. & yes off course Growing age!

To match the sample and your last work may be you just need to add life in the building (people, plants, desks, more bright lights ...) and people in the near foreground. Some car lights also ?

        nice picture yet

pretty sure thats just confirmation bias...
If everyone started a thread when they had a client who didn't really know what they wanted but kinda liked what was done anyway and paid on time we'd have thousands every day.
This is massively negative forum at times, you cant let the small fraction of an entire industry having a bad time get to you.

This is a problem with support forums in general - often people post only when they have a problem This is why I'm always happy when someone posts finished work - it reminds me that the software sometimes works

            Best regards,

If you knew how often I genuinely say "Vlado, I love you" out loud in the studio, well... You'd probably be quite scared of me!

                        Getting there!!! Looks much better.

                        Suggestions:
Darker asphalt (you are lacking some blacks (confirm with levels move in PS), this should help)
Take camera correction off perfect, just dial it back a tiny bit, usually helps.
                        Saturate everything 8%.

Try a couple more skies too.

Hah - I hear you on that one. Chaos produces great software and has the gold standard for support. I disagree though about the community being negative. Even the problems rarely take the kind of negative tone I see on other render forums. I personally think that has a lot to do with the fact that Vlado et al never leave you feeling like they are doing you a favour by producing software that works as advertised.

Prateek: I understand your frustration with clients very well. We have all been there. Something to think about though: your clients do not always know what they want and/or do not know how to express it. A *huge* part of your value as a pro is being able to figure that out and provide for them *especially* when they cannot. Learning to translate what any one given client means by "make it better" in any given case takes experience and patience. But it's worth it. Clients will come back and pay more for the time when you are someone who just "knows" what they want or need or know how to communicate *in their language*. You could see this job as a major opportunity to learn and to advance your communications skills, and to show your client that you are more than just an operator.

As an example, I had a client for years who brought me a lot of retouching work and he would always look at something in progress and say that I needed to "tickle" something a bit more. That was often all I got as direction. I can assure you - that is not a very technical term in retouching Anyway, the fact that I could figure out what he really meant was a key part of our working relationship.

I wasnt talking about vray at all. I was talking about all the threads about clients, not getting paid, getting ripped off, the industry 'going down the pan' and having to make our work cheaper etc.
That happens a lot on here and it only affects one group of people, even though it's the only side of the story you ever see on here.

latest version does look much better than the original.
                                my thoughts,
                                - the car looks like it's about to run over the guy with the bike...might look better without the car perhaps?
                                - some of the plants could do with a bit of work, the tree near the pavement is perhaps too saturated / bright?
                                - why is there a tree inside?

good luck! try not to get too annoyed with your client, although they can be frustrating at times remember they are the ones paying the bills!
