  • The Mill Project

    Hello Everybody,

I wanted to share a new project that I have recently completed. I created an interactive conceptual architecture project to showcase MP Lightings LED lights. This project is best view on a tablet and was designed with the sales team in mind. I wanted to give them something that they could use to help explain lighting design instantly to a client.

There are four sections to the Mill on-line site.

Overview - A brief explanation of the project.
Lighting Designs - A series of scenes in the mill that you turn lights on and off.
Supplemental- Concept drawings / Sections / Details
Map – Interactive overview of the site.

    Thanks and CC are welcome.

wow that's really beautiful work! I love warmth and balance of artificial/natural light.
I take it that all the lights in the scene were from manufacturer IES files?

Nice colors, thanks for sharing, great to see this kind of work. You peaked my interest with the tablet comment. Is there an app you developed for the sales team, or are you saying the website is best interacted with on a tablet?

          Very cool.

The images themselves are really good, but the fact that different lights turning on or off also affects how bright the sky is and how much glow there is in some really bothers me... I figure if you're going to do something like that seamless blends are in order.

                Thanks everyone,

@KAKTUSDIGITAL Yup. ies was the base. then a combination of the others.Depending on what it was Dome, plane, sphere, mesh.....

@ alias_mark There is an app that was done, but it was strictly spec sheet /info. Very straight forward on the information and not very graphic. The project started out as a print based. But as I got into it, I steered it toward an on-line / Mobile platform. I can still take the model and render out something High-rez for print when required. The next one will be designed as an app from the start.

@cubiclegangster I'm not sure what you mean. I tryed to keep it as close to a "real " exposure as possible. They are obviously cheated but I wanted to keep the exposures averaged so the transition wouldn't be too harsh.

I was being overly picky, but you can see it on the reflection pool image between l05 & l171.

Some of the glows/flares are a little too intense for my taste but a really nice job!

Thanks everyone. I'm totally humbled by the response.

@cubiclegangster. You are right...... the pool L01 & L05 transition was the one that bothered me the most. The reflection on the water is complete photoshop nonsence lol....but I ran out of time and had to go with it.
