    Yet another car...

    More images can be seen on my site. http://www.suurland.com/portfolio_st...ugeot307cc.htm

    Modeling: It's cad data so I did only model a few things that was missing.
    Light: Skylight
    Environment: Uffizi HDR.
    Rendertime: Don't remember, as the page says this was made in spring 2003.

                  Awesome! I've been a fan for quite a while.

                  Would it be too much to ask to get a quick description of your workflow
                  in getting your stuff stuff from CAD data (format? type?) to max? [like steps
                  taken, plugins or converters used, etc]

                  Thanks!

                    it a great render Suurland but i do think if we all had accsess to the Cad data from the car manufactures we could all make a few nice mats and apply them.
                    Yes it is a great render but that is due to a great model.
                    No disrespect Suurland because you are very good at what you do.

                      I first wouldn't know how to make those few nice mats .
                      I really like the tire materiial, care to share?

                        To Natty: Yes, but it is a matter of getting those car files, isn't it?

                        I agree though that the quality of the model has a huge effect of the final output. But that was the investment he made by modeling the beetle to the finest detail...

                          Natty,

                          That's like asking a photographer if he made the car in a photo :P

                            @mc-escher - import the IGES to rhino, then join all the surfaces and remodel all the parts that contains errors (usually quite a lot so nurbs modeling skills is needed) then I import to max with powertranslator.

                            @Natty - Well, the model isn't 100%

                            @Dusan - It's just a texture planar mapped, and then a tire thread that is using displacement.

                            @rest - Thanks!

                              Thanks for the info!
                              If you're using power translator, I take it you're not exporting meshes anymore? I have to say i haven't had much success with that tool yet.
