here is the updated model, with textures. I think this one is 2013, but I'll post a saved back version shortly. It's still processing, after 10 hrs, with 11 hrs to go (it'll be done in a couple hours, I am sure).

i changed some settings on engine and started here on a dual xeon a view minutes before. it will be nice to compare than - 50 subdivs on bruteforce is quite heavy...

Usually, if it's under an estimated 10hrs, I don't care much. I generally render these over night. I could spends hours tweaking settings, to save hours, but my time is worth more then my computers time.

Just curious as to how come you're not using IRmap?

I tried everything, and BF was what was working the best. After I re-worked my fireplace maps I didn't try IRmap. I usually use it for the primary and LC for the secondary

Brute force can be pretty nasty on render times for interiors - there's zero short cuts being taken which can save you a fair bit on the render time, at a slight expense of memory. For stills, undersampling blotchiness might be more acceptable than noise though.

IRmap as you had & lowered Bruteforce & LanczosFilter & increased Noise threshold - the result is strange: a blotchy thing with fireflies...

that would be nice to know, why this?

Feel my pain . I am getting good clean renders, with 10 hr render times, so I am pleased. I dream for the day of getting 1-2 hour render times
