    So far so good.

A displacment map on the floor tiles would definetly help out a lot, at the moment it's very flat.

      nice

the windows look odd, there should be some shadows in the openings but there appears to be light all round? funny light by the chair too.

good over all lighting but I agree w/ th above........

there is also something weird about your blue tiles on the tub.....it's as if they are blurred...or the bump map and diffuse map don't line up....

          Material

          Hi,

Looks good. The tiles might be alittle on the flat side.

Could you give me some pointers as to your material for the bath.

          Thanks

              hi percy

maybe you should consider your camera location as well
there's a weird depth(or shall i say lack of depth) in your scene
it makes it hard to perceive the space

                thanks for all the comments:

Matt_3D: Ive tried a displacement map on the floor tiles, but it looks about the same as there is not much in direct light hitting it, just secondary bounces. Also, for some reason, the displacement in the scene, (the bathrobe, and the near wall behind the bathtub) causes my memory to leap from 350megs to over 1gig, and thats just the irrad map calculation. In fact, I had to comp in the bathrobe later in PS. Ill have to take another look at it.

nvanherpt: I agree about the windows. Im going based on a photograph, and the windows were pretty blown out. But I think it shouldn't be too hard to fix. The light by the chair does look strange. Im not too sure about it, but after moving the key light around, I lost the light that hit the near wall, which I thought looked kinda cool.

cocolas. yeah the tiles on the tub are strange. Originally the tiles had no bump to them and they looked incredibly flat. After increasing the bump, it looked even worse then it does now. I toned it down to what it is now. Ill check but Im pretty sure they line up. I think its the reflection being so close to the grout that makes it look that way. It will definitely be changed though.

GyroHip: Im working on the tiles. The material on the bath is just a vray mat with reflection map a falloff map set to IOR of about 2.5 I think.

Stellar: I struggled alot with the camera location, lens and so on. Im going on several photos of this cool bathroom I found in a Arch magazine, and tried to match the scene as close to the photo as possible. I dont disagree with your comments, cause I constantly told myself that I didn't necessarily like the way the photo was taken, but decided to go with it nonetheless. After Im all finished, Im gonna render a 360 degree AVI so it can all be seen at once.

My ftp seems down at the moment, so cant even see the image as of now. Hopefully will be fixed soon.

                    much more drama, very cool.
only thing i would say is the tile bump map appears to span across the tiles.

                      Hi

                      Hi ,

Actually the image is super realistic, but I have a comment to make,

The brown ceramics look a little bit artificial, they need some tweaking to look better as ceramics, in the first image this is accomplished by the bumpiness and nice specularity, but in the second imege they don't.
Maybe they have the features like the above imege but you need to make them look so.
                      Everything else is very nice,

By the way, you made the mixer? looks nice. And what kind of light you used behind the camera?

                      Your's

looks very nice, percy......I see you fixed the tile problem on the tub...what was it?

I like th shaft of light comming from the right.....it adds mood/ intterest point to it......

                        good stuff!

                        paul.

PS: how'd you do the towel?

                          thanks for the comments yall.

cocolas: the tile problem was fixed by lowering the bump and upping the blurriness. I have a light card behind the camera and on the previous image the reflections just didn't work for it. The bathrobe was modeled using polygons then used simcloth for the cloth dynamics. small noise map for displacement, and alot of post processing to get more even look to it.

graphicsgriffin: thanks for the compliment. Im not sure which brown ceramics your referring to. The small tiles on the far wall? I cant figure out why they look so different, particularly the grout across the entire wall. I originally used displacement map, but for some reason, using displacement would create a horrible munge all over the image, even when just using a diffuse material. I thought the bump mapping didn't look very well either, so as of that image theres nothing on the far wall.

nvanherpt: thank, am not sure quite what you mean, if you could be more specific it would be great. Are you referring to the far wall?

i'm referring to the tiles on the wall in the middle of the view (the one with the taps on it). it looks like you've applied a bump map to the whole wall instead of to individual tiles.

we have tiles with that sort of rough texture on them and the edges of the tiles are rough as well. tiles with uniformly straight edges usually have smooth surfaces.
