jbug: it was basically a normal plane, with a vray displacement pointing to a mix shader. The mix shader had two noise maps blending together.

Same with the diffuse channel. I had a gradient for half, mixed 50% with a jpeg image of grass.

That is so cool I prefer the Qantas over the Emirates...it's Aussie of course

Grass looks awesome but where are those lights? :P

On second thought, your first image is the best damn grass I've seen. Would you mind posting the settings? I've been playing around a little bit but just can't get that long thin natural look. All mine come out as if it's perfectly maintained on a golf coarse.

          Thanks,

leoriza: i totally agree. ive been having serious problems with that area, whether its the glass, or not having anything inside, i'm not entirely sure whats wrong.. ill try and model a cockpit to see if it helps..

jbug: heres the major settings ive used. as u can see, its pretty similar to the grass scene that was provided in that cool thread a while back.. i think it could just be tiling that makes it look a little differen't.

made that update to the cockpit
                    and added thrust reversers.

does anyone know what the best way of achieving glows are in vray?
i'm looking into making an LED type effect.

                    cheers,
                    hen

Thanks so much a320 I guess it's just your twist on the material that did it and again, nice job. The glows on your lights and your latest paint material look great BTW.

                        The texturing is awesome.
