    A photogenic sink plug:



    Nodes were used to mix between chrome and brushed using a mix map.
    Brushed material is simply less glossy and with a "brushings" texture into multiply of reflection colour.

      The brushed material is quite a basic implementation of brushed metal, see this screenshot:

      I think it's important about the model, uv mapping and scale of the texture.

      The chrome is set up as: diffuse 0.01, reflection 0.8, glossiness 0.95, fresnel IOR 16.0

      The lighting is set up as a single 2m area light facing into the sink, kind of perpendicular above the camera path.

          Testing out new lampshade, blurred refraction not translucency. Appears to take quite a few samples to clear up but looks pretty cool I think.
          Found the effect of the clamp output button and now turned it off for this sort of render with large bright spaces, now can adjust later without the 32bit data being clipped before hand.
