I love the clay renders! To me it looks very calm and shows all the detail you have put into the model. Are you lighting this with HDRI?

I too, love the clay renders, thanks. I am working with the contractor, on behalf of the architect, which I think is a big mistake. The contractor wants very technical views, very flat without any concept of composition, depth, and balance. This has such great potential, so I'll probably spend some personal time on it when it is completed for the client.Bobby Parker

this client is very much - "Oh, let's try a different color stone... and, maybe 2-3 other options." How do you charge for this? If you are commissioned to do a piece, but you become part of someone "process", do you start charging per hour.Bobby Parker

Looking good Bobby!
I'm all for long term business relationships, but in my experience becoming part of somebody's "process" like you call it usually means you'll be working extra time for free and doing things that wasn't in the initial brief and the client gets use to this. So make sure he/she knows UPFRONT that anything extra will also COST EXTRA. I usually do 1 round of minor adjustments, but after that...
Remember doing extra "free" work that wasn't in the brief, gets in the way of other paying projects
If it's a BIG animation then I don't mind as much, but if it's something that was suppose to be just a day or 2 that suddenly runs for 2 or 3 weeks.....
I use to have a client that ALWAYS "quickly" wanted to design the project from scratch while I'm sitting there in the initial meeting because he never had anything prepared for when I get there. So a quick 30 min meeting to pick up the plans and samples, resulted in a couple hours "design session"Last edited by Morne; 23-03-2014, 01:16 PM.Kind Regards,

I have home owners call, usually from HOUZZ, and they think the price I quote is design fee.Last edited by glorybound; 24-03-2014, 03:59 PM.Bobby Parker

The little rabbit is a nice touch and I like it very much. The eagle from the other side is just wrong on the other hand (especially if the rabbit is dinner). Take either one out but don't leave both in (does a fish eagle only eat fish I wonder)
Your brushed waterfall looked better although the water did stop a bit short from the bottom. This 3D water looks like a HUGE waterfall. I would double up the map you have going in there for the displacement/water streaks (make it more dense) to give a sense of smaller water flowing gently... Also it looks a bit darkish, try adding some foam and secondary splashes from small droplets at the bottom with either a pflow or just simply a sprayKind Regards,
Morne

I did try clearer water, but my thought process was, the water feature is to an entrance to some woods. So, the water would be pretty green and a little murky. I tried some branches on top, but then I thought that the photographer would pull them down before the shoot.Last edited by glorybound; 25-03-2014, 07:29 AM.Bobby Parker
